    Maia Chiburdanidze’s Achievements and Awards

    Maia Chiburdanidze is a Georgian chess player and the first female to be awarded the men’s Grandmaster title. She was the Women’s stepnguides World Chess Champion from 1978 to 1991, and is considered one of the strongest female chess players of all time. Chiburdanidze has achieved numerous awards and honors for her achievements in chess. In 1984, she was awarded the title of International Grandmaster.
